Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026
DeHub is built as a decentralized application that prioritizes user privacy and data sovereignty. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our decentralized ecosystem.
Core Principle: we collect the minimum an account needs to work, we never sell it, and everything past that stays on your device or on a public chain.
Data Collection & Storage
What We Collect:
- The identifier you signed in with — an email address or phone number if you chose one of those routes, the identity Google, Apple or Telegram returns if you signed in socially, or a passkey's public credential. A wallet sign-in gives us nothing but your public address.
- Your account: username, profile details, avatar, who you follow and the settings you pick. Several profiles can sit on one device, and each is stored the same way.
- What you publish — posts, comments, uploads and the metadata around them — so it can be served to the people you published it to.
- What the product needs to run: view and engagement counts on posts, and a device identifier that keeps a session attributable so you can see and revoke your own active sessions.
- Payment records for anything you buy, whether it settled through Stripe or on-chain, kept for accounting and disputes. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
- Diagnostics when something breaks, so it can be fixed.
- Things you choose to switch on: a phone number for text notifications, whether others see when you are online, and the external social accounts you connect for multi-posting.
- Which pages are visited and how people move between them, so we can see what works. Your own visits to your affiliate pages are not counted.
What We Don't Collect:
- Identity documents — there is no KYC to use DeHub
- Contact details you did not give us: we do not buy, scrape or import address books
- Your browsing outside DeHub, or any cross-site tracking
- Precise location data
- Advertising identifiers or third-party fingerprinting scripts
- Your card details, and never the text of your end-to-end encrypted direct messages — those are unreadable to us. Photos, video and files in messages, and messages to someone who has not unlocked encryption, are not yet end-to-end encrypted.
Blockchain Data:
As a decentralized application, your interactions with DeHub may be recorded on public blockchains. This data is:
- Publicly accessible by nature of blockchain technology
- Pseudonymous (linked to wallet addresses, not personal identity)
- Immutable and permanent
- Not controlled or stored by DeHub
Local Storage:
Some application preferences may be stored locally in your browser to enhance user experience. This data:
- Remains on your device only
- Is only sent to our servers as part of a request you made
- Can be cleared by you at any time
Content Moderation & Governance
Community Governance:
Content moderation is handled through decentralized community governance mechanisms:
- Community voting determines content policies
- Token holders participate in governance decisions
- Transparent, on-chain voting processes
- No centralized censorship authority
Legal Compliance:
Content moderation may occur only for:
- Illegal content as defined by applicable law
- Content violating community-approved guidelines
- Spam or malicious activities
Third-Party Services
DeHub may integrate with third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
- Wallet Providers: MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc. - governed by their respective privacy policies
- Blockchain Networks: Transaction data is public on respective blockchains
- IPFS/Decentralized Storage: Content stored on distributed networks
- Payments: Stripe processes card payments and holds the card details; we receive only the result
- Accounts & Storage: Supabase provides authentication and file storage for the app
- Streaming & Rooms: DeHub's own ingest carries live video, with Livepeer as a fallback, and Agora carries live audio rooms
- Delivery: Cloudflare serves and caches the site and its media
- AI & Translation: Text and media you send to a generation, translation, captioning or dubbing feature are passed to the provider running it, for that request only. Private text — messages, replies and assistant chats — is never sent to a provider whose free tier trains on what it receives.
- Buying & paying with crypto: MoonPay sells ETH and USDC by card, and NEAR Intents, deBridge and decentralised exchanges convert crypto you pay with; each sees the payment it handles
- Multi-posting: When you connect other social accounts, the posts you choose to send are delivered to those platforms through a posting service, and to Farcaster through a signer you approve
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you choose to use with DeHub.
Your Rights & Control
Data Sovereignty:
- You maintain full control over your data
- Your direct messages are end-to-end encrypted, so nobody at DeHub can read them
- You can discontinue use at any time
- Your wallet and keys remain under your sole control
- You choose whether AI systems may train on your work. It is allowed unless you switch it off in Settings, and your choice is published to crawlers on the pages we control
- You can delete your account yourself from Settings; your profile, uploads and stored media, including backup copies, are erased
Blockchain Considerations:
Due to the immutable nature of blockchain technology:
- Blockchain transactions cannot be deleted or modified
- Public blockchain data remains permanently accessible
- Consider privacy implications before making transactions
Contact & Updates
For questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices:
- Email tech@dehub.net, or ask in the community chat inside the app
- Participate in governance discussions
- Submit proposals through the DAO
This Privacy Policy may be updated through community governance processes. Material changes will be communicated through our official channels.
DeHub operates as a decentralized protocol. While we strive to protect user privacy, the decentralized nature means that interactions may be visible on public blockchains. Users are responsible for understanding the privacy implications of their blockchain interactions.
