What is DeHub?
By DeHub Team — 2026-07-12
DeHub is an open source, user-owned and censorship-resistant social platform for creators and communities. Post, stream, message and go live like on any modern social app — except your content is minted on-chain the moment you upload it, your audience relationship belongs to you rather than an algorithm, and the platform's economics are shared with the people who actually create and consume the content.
You can use it right now at dehub.io on the web or with the DeHub app on Google Play — no wallet knowledge required to start.
Why DeHub exists
Legacy social media has a structural problem: the platform owns everything. Your account can be deplatformed, your reach is decided by an opaque algorithm, your content can be demonetised without appeal, and the advertising value your attention generates is captured almost entirely by the platform.
DeHub is built to invert that:
- Chronological, transparent feeds — no shady algorithm deciding who sees your work.
- On-chain content ownership — every upload is minted to your wallet. Nobody can silently delete your library or hold your audience hostage.
- Creator-first economics — tokenized uploads, pay-per-view, token-gated content, on-chain tradable subscriptions, and ad revenue sharing that pays up to 90% out to the ecosystem instead of the house.
- Open source — the code is public on GitHub, and the platform is designed so the community can fork, audit and build on it.
- Privacy — end-to-end encrypted messaging, open sourced so the encryption claims can actually be verified.
How it works
DeHub feels like a familiar social app on the surface. Underneath, it runs on Web3 rails:
Content
Every video, stream or post is minted as an on-chain asset when you upload. Creators choose free, pay-per-view, or token-gated access per upload. Live streaming runs on decentralized video infrastructure that has scaled to 50,000+ concurrent viewers.
Subscriptions you actually own
Creator subscriptions on DeHub are on-chain and tradable. If a creator you backed early gets big, your early-supporter pass has real market value — you can sell it on. Creators earn a royalty on every resale. Contracts are live on Base, BNB Chain and Polygon.
The DHB token
$DHB is DeHub's ecosystem token, live on Base. It powers staking, subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view unlocks and gaming rewards. You'll find it listed on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.
Gaming
DeHub's gaming arm has shipped a play-and-win arcade and is building Last Chad Standing, a fighter battle royale featuring licensed fighters from top fight leagues — one of the first games of its kind on or off chain.
A quick history
- 2021 — launched by a team of social media, gaming and entertainment entrepreneurs; the community voted on chain, price, supply and listing from day one.
- 2022 — UK entity DeLabs Ltd incorporated; marketplace, streaming and staking dapps shipped; V2 token migration completed for 25,000+ holders.
- 2023–2024 — creator economy tooling (90% ad revenue share, POVR ad tech), DePIN phase 1, on-chain tradable subscriptions, move to Base L2.
- 2025–2026 — live streaming with animated tips, E2EE messaging, custom CDN with sub-200ms latency, Google Play launch, and the full web app at dehub.io.
Not the same as other "DeHubs"
The name collides with a few unrelated things — worth clearing up:
- DePaul University's "DeHUB" (dehub.depaul.edu) is a student engagement portal for DePaul students. If you're a DePaul student looking for club sign-ups, that's your link.
- Rowan University's "DEHub" is a digital engineering hub at an engineering school.
- This DeHub — the one you're reading about — is the decentralized social platform at dehub.io.
